The property is situated in a very tranquil part of rural Brittany, yet within convenient access to larger centres (10 minutes to medieval Dinan) and a leisurely 30 minutes country drive from literally 100's of excellent beaches on the north Brittany coast (Cote d'Armor). It stands in its own private grounds of 4 acres - mostly to the rear of the property, which looks down across rich farmland and wooded countryside to a private lake.

Accommodation comprises of a self-contained gîte (1 bedroom - accommodating 2 + infants) and across a sunny courtyard, "The Farmhouse" (4 Bedrooms - 6/10 people) and "La Grange" (3 bedrooms - 6 people). A large garage is also available for use containing washing machine/dryer and a range of bikes (which you are free to use).

All accommodation has recently been extensively refurbished to a very high standard. La Grange in particular, offers the best of modern luxury, featuring underfloor heating, cathedral style ceilings, a mezzanine and abundance of natural light, yet retains all the character features and retained workmanship of the period (early 1800's). This includes traditional lime rendering, exposed beams and stonework throughout.

The grounds have been landscaped and are regularly maintained. Set in a very private rural setting (about a dozen cars pass per day), the property is situated 200m outside the hamlet of Péhé (no shops, about 10 houses / farmlets) and about 2km from the nearest town of Mégrit (a pleasant bicycle ride for baguettes). Plélan-le-Pétit is the nearest town (5km) for a medium sized supermarket, butcher, patisserie etc.

Other attractions in the area include Dinan, a beautiful medieval town situated on the Rance - only 10 minutes away. In Dinan you will also find the usual array of hypermarkets etc. Other larger centres are an easy drive away; St. Malo (40 minutes), Rennes (45 minutes) and St. Brieuc (35 minutes). Le Mont St. Michel is also a worthwhile day trip being one hour away. Local attractions include an equestrian centre on the outskirts of Plélan-le-Pétit (5K) where pony treks and horse riding lessons can be booked and at Jugon-les-Lacs (10K), water sports (canoeing, windsurfing, pedalo, yachting) and swimming pool.

You can walk, ride (bicycles provided) or safely push children in buggies around the small local roads from the property, with plenty of scenic variety, from corn and wheat crops to pasture and wooded/forest areas. The terrain is undulating. There is a water tower atop a hill, a pleasant 1km stroll away, from where you can see for miles around the Brittany countryside (including the town of Mégrit just below).

For children, there are swings, a tree house, bikes and spacious lawned area at both the front and rear of the property for games of football, badminton etc. A communal BBQ area is provided in the courtyard, although the large patio areas at the rear of the Farmhouse and La Grange also provide an excellent location for outdoor eating and to enjoy the afternoon or evening sunset.
